Victorious in His Resurrection
Easter Sunday! Click here for final materials and closing prayer.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33
We know how the story ends…on the third day, He rose from the dead, He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. Jesus is victorious over sin and death! And we are too. In Him, we are already Victorious. And yet, some days I forget this truth. Some days, I find it difficult to believe that I am victorious when my daily existence is wrought with struggle, anxiety, or discontentment. Can you relate?
Join us for our 2019 Lenten Study, Victorious!
Together, we’ll pull the truth of Christ’s victory down from heaven and into our daily lives.
As we thought and prayed about what it means to “successfully” live daily life in a victorious way, the measure that the Lord showed us was fruit. Nine of them to be exact.
Love. Joy. Peace. Patience. Kindness. Goodness. Faithfulness. Gentleness. Self-Control.
Now, this is not a study on the fruits of the Holy Spirit. And yet, we feel pretty clear that the Lord is asking us to look for evidence of fruit in our daily lives. This is the victory! When I remain patient in a frustrating situation, each kind word I speak to others, when I say yes to my neighbor in need of help, the way I joyfully share my awe at this morning’s sunrise. We often overlook the very many small victories we achieve in a day!
Let us boldly claim and celebrate every small victory!
In our Victorious Lenten Study we’ll use many tools to help us move from bondage to freedom. Tools like the scriptures, Jesus’ authority over the enemy in our lives, the power of praying in a community of our sisters, His Truths about our worthiness and our identity, prayers of the Church, His gift of our creativity, and more.
Journey with us as together we’ll apply weekly scripture readings, reflective exercises, guided imagery, and simple creative projects to eight specific topic areas, which are listed below. We’ll post the topics and links to study materials each week in our Instagram feed and our Facebook Page. You can also receive an email from us each week with topic and links by filling out the form below.
We are so excited to journey through Lent with you! Know that you will be in our daily prayers.
