“Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me.” – Song of Songs 2:10
Today’s gospel reading (April 7, 2019) is the account of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. Jesus came, He spoke to Lazarus’ heart, and Lazarus comes alive! And so it is with us, my sisters. He seeks us, finds us right where we are, and speaks Truth which brings us more fully to life. This week, we are studying the Truth of who we are in Christ. The Truth of our identity.
You are the Beloved of God. Period. No matter what.
Listen to this powerful song by Bethel Music, and imagine this is you, saying these words to Jesus:
Remember to be on the lookout every day for the seemingly small victories. Our ‘yardstick’ for measuring these small victories is the fruit of the Spirit. Notice how His grace enables you to shift your gaze from your frustration to His peace. Notice your joy-filled heart as you gratefully speak His name throughout the day. These are victories to be acknowledged and celebrated!

You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you. – Song of Songs 4:7

Laura’s completed “Beautiful One” picture:
Who in your life needs to be reminded of who they are in Christ? Pray, asking the Lord to reveal to you the one(s) who He desires to love through your words, your hands and feet. Then reach out to them with a text, an email, phone call, or handwritten note.
- How is it to imagine yourself – to see yourself – as the Beloved, cherished one of God? What shifts as you pull this truth deeper within?
- Tell us about the small victory you are claiming this week.
- Other sharing or comments are welcome too!
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your deep and unfailing love for me. I believe in Your love and in the truth that I am Your beloved daughter. Help me to hear Your Sacred Voice each day, as You call me “Beloved”. Pour Your grace upon me that I will gain wisdom in discerning all other voices and the courage to silence the lies that the world and the enemy want me to believe about who I am. Lord, help me to see myself more clearly, as You see me. Increase within me self-compassion and self-acceptance, that I would think and speak to myself in ways that are befitting Your Beloved one. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
