In our world, ordained ministers and other pastoral workers can make present the fragrance of Christ’s closeness and his personal gaze. …this “art of accompaniment” teaches us to remove our sandals before the sacred ground of the other.”
– Pope Francis
Our coaching services are for women desiring growth in their relationship with God, healing from emotional wounding or past traumas, and discovering the abiding presence of Christ within their own hearts. We’ll move in that direction together, through prayer, deepening awareness of self, and removal of obstacles, spiritually and emotionally. Our approach has been shaped by many great saints and spiritual thinkers, including St. John Paul II, St. Ignatius of Loyola and Henri Nouwen to name a few.
We must attain the ability to understand to some extent, the different movements produced in the soul and recognizing those that are good to admit them, and those that are bad, to reject them. – St. Ignatius of Loyola
We’ll move forward together using tools and methods from the fields of Spiritual Direction, Coaching and Gestalt Pastoral Care, while standing firmly upon the pillars below.
Pillar 1: Coming into God's Presence
Our work together begins by entering into God’s presence with open hearts and engaging in sacred conversation. The art of conversation with one another and our Lord involves speaking, listening and sometimes sitting together in silence. Our sessions are a safe place to lift the veil on our hearts and simply come as we are, discovering our authentic voice.
Pillar 2: Identity
Our foundational identity in Christ is Beloved of God. We stand firmly on this truth in our work together. Oftentimes, an important part of our work involves simply being with the Lord and letting His love sink in deeply. Each time we allow ourselves to receive His immense love, we gain strength to take the next step.
Pillar 3: Wholeness
“Just as our bodies mobilize for healing when we have been physically injured, we can be confident that this same energy for wholeness is expended on wounds of emotion and spirit. In this context, discomfort or pain or anxiety are certainly not imaginary, but are a sign that something is pushing for resolution inside…We trust our inner process precisely because the Holy Spirit is at work in it, for the drive toward wholeness is written into our very beings by the One who created us.” – Tilda Norberg in Consenting to Grace, an Introduction to Gestalt Pastoral Care.
“Behold, I make all things new.” – Revelation 21:5
