Lord, I know that Your ways are high above my ways. I know that You are timeless – beyond time – and that Your idea of time is quite different from mine. Sometimes I get caught in a lie around time, particularly that I do not have enough of it! And I can see how this lie leads me into anxiety, worry, even fear – none of which are of You, My Lord. I pray for the grace to relax, to rest in the assurance, that In You, I will always have enough. I choose to focus on You, on being with You and enjoying Your Presence. I choose to trust in Your timelessness, believing that You will help me accomplish all that truly matters today. In Your Holy Name, Amen!
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord replied, “you are worried and upset about many things. But only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the better portion, and it will not be taken away from her. – Luke 10:41-42
Lord Jesus, one of my deepest fears is being rejected, of not belonging. At times, my desire to belong has led me to compromise myself and my authenticity. Lord, help me to experience the kinds of deep connections and community for which I was made. Strengthen me in the truth that no matter who on this earth might reject or accept me, You will always stay by my side. Thank You that I always have a home in Your sacred Heart. Thank You for inviting me into an eternal life of being wanted, desired, known, loved, celebrated. I rejoice in the assurance that I belong to You! Alleluia! Amen!
I have called you by name and you are mine. – Isaiah 43:1
Lord Jesus, You know my burdens. I lay them all on Your Good Shepherd’s Heart. I ask You – by the merits of the great wound in Your Heart, to heal the small wounds that are in mine. Heal the pain of my memories, so that nothing that has happened to me will cause me to remain in pain, anguish or anxiety. Heal, O Lord, all those wounds that have been the cause of any evil that is rooted in my life. Help me to forgive all those who have wronged me or injured me.
I offer You my heart. Accept it, Lord, purify it and give me the sentiments of Your Divine Heart. Help me to be meek and humble. I pray I may be filled with peace and joy in the knowledge that You are the Resurrection and the Life. I praise You Lord for Your living presence alive in me! In Your most Holy Name I pray, Amen.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. – Matthew 11:28
-adapted from “Prayer for Healing,” in Deliverance Prayers For Use By The Laity.
O Lord, who else or what else can I desire but you? You are my Lord, Lord of my heart, mind, and soul. You know me through and through. In and through you everything that is finds its origin and goal. You embrace all that exists and care for it with divine love and compassion. Why, then, do I keep expecting happiness and satisfaction outside of you? Why do I keep relating to you as one of my many relationships, instead of my only relationship, in which all other ones are grounded? Why do I keep looking for popularity, respect from others, success, acclaim, and sensual pleasures? Why, Lord, is it so hard for me to make you the only one? Why do I keep hesitating to surrender myself totally to you?
Help me, O Lord, to let my old self die, to let me die to the thousand big and small ways in which I am still building up my false self and trying to cling to my false desires. Let me be reborn in you and see through you the world in the right way, so that all my actions, words, and thoughts can become a hymn of praise to you.
I need your loving grace to travel on this hard road that leads to the death of my old self to a new life in and for you. I know and trust that this is the road to freedom.
-written by Father Henri Nouwen
I invite You into all my brokenness, my wounds, and my memories, even those that I keep hidden from myself.
Help me grow in trust so I might truly believe that I am safe with You.
I desire to hear Your voice of Truth and Love, to hear You call me Your Beloved.
Please come, Lord, and touch me with Your gentle healing hands and fill my mind and heart with Your peace.
Thank You, Jesus, for seeking and finding me so that I may be healed and know wholeness and love again.
In Your Most Precious Name, I pray. Amen.
Most Holy Trinity, Godhead indivisible, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, my first beginning and my last end, since You have made me after Your own image and likeness, grant that all the thoughts of my mind, all the words of my tongue, all the affections of my heart and all my actions may be always conformed to Your most Holy Will.
O Most Holy Trinity, I adore Thee who are dwelling by Thy grace within my soul.
O Most Holy Trinity, who art dwelling by Thy grace within my soul, make me love Thee more and more.
O Most Holy Trinity, who art dwelling by Thy grace within my soul, sanctify me more and more.
Abide with me, O Lord; be Thou my true joy. Amen.
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. – 2 Corinthians 13:14

O Holy Spirit, divine Spirit of light and love, I give myself to You; my understanding, my heart, my will, my whole being for time and for eternity. May my understanding be always obedient to Your heavenly inspirations and the teachings of the holy Catholic Church of which You are the unfailing Guide. May my heart be ever inflamed with love of God and of my neighbor. May my will be ever conformed to the divine will. Make my whole life a faithful following of the life and virtues of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to Whom with the Father and You be honor and glory forever! Amen!
the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. – John 14:26
Your word says that a meek and quiet spirit is of great value to You. I find it difficult to humble myself at times, and to let meekness and gentleness guide my words, my behavior. Too many times to count, I have uttered harsh words to those whom you have given me to care for. I’ve allowed prideful, self-centered thoughts to harden in my heart. And I don’t like this.
Pride, harsh words, hardness of heart are not my truth. My truth is found in You alone; You who are Love and all things pure and perfect. Lord, I pray that I might be loving and gentle like You. I ask that You would create in me a meek and quiet spirit. Mary, our Blessed Mother, I ask you for the grace to increase in humility, in peacefulness, and in living each day in a way that honors the Truth of who I am in Christ.
In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
Rather, let your adornment be the inner self with the lasting beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit,
which is very precious in God’s sight. – 1 Peter 3:4
“May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.”
By St Teresa of Avila
O Lord my God,
Teach my heart this day,
where and how to find You.
Teach me to seek You,
for I cannot seek You unless You teach me,
or find You unless You show Yourself to me.
Let me seek You in my desire;
let me desire You in my seeking.
Let me find You by loving You;
let me love You when I find You. Amen.
By St Anselm of Canterbury
My true identity is revealed in You alone: Beloved. And yet in this world, I too often forget or compromise this truth. I need Your help to recognize the enemy’s deceptions, his lies about my dignity and my worth. Lord, increase in me fortitude, courage, and spiritual discipline that I may continually pursue You and Your plans for me. Guide me to avail myself each day of the many tools you have provided for this “good fight,” especially the Scriptures and the Sacraments. Teach me to resist temptation and shun all that leads me away from You. It is my deepest desire to be all in for You!
I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
But as for you, man of God, shun all this; pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life, to which you were called and for which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. – 1 Timothy 6:11-12
Jesus, You are alive! And I too am risen to new life by the power of Your love for me! I dwell in hope with my heart full of gladness! I am filled with confidence and trust in You! I surround myself with thoughts of You; with you ever before me, whom shall I fear?! I will praise Your name forever, my Savior and King! Amen! Alleluia!
I have set the LORD continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; My body also will rest secure. For You will not abandon me to the netherworld; nor will You allow Your faithful one to undergo decay. You will make known to me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand there are pleasures forever. – Psalm 16:8-11
