Lord, I long to spend more time with You. The noise, unrest, and busy-ness around me urges and deepens my desire for quiet time with You.
“A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.”
-O Holy Night, John Sullivan Dwight
We are a weary world here at the end of this difficult, and in many ways disappointing, year.
But despite it all,
You have been born again for us.
You came for us all and for me in particular.
You are Emmanuel, God with us.
You are always with us and I thank You for that truth.
Even in the hardest moments, You walk right through it with us, leading us to You and Your glory.
You shepherd us and lead us to the victory.
We behold Your Holy Spirit, overshadowing Mary and overshadowing us in the moments of our life.
We behold Your light, shining brightly and lighting up all the darkness.
Help me to turn my eyes to Your light and to be illuminated by Your presence.
We behold You, the newborn baby who is the Messiah and will be the Savior of the world.
Help me to find the moments of joy in this season.
To rejoice in the little things, the small gifts You freely give us.
To share the reason for my hope with those I encounter in new and different ways.
To feel the peace You bring in moments big and small, and to share Your peace with others.
To make Your glorious name known in my world.
Thank You Lord for choosing to come among us and to stay with us to this day and all the days to come.
Glory to God in the Highest and on earth peace, goodwill to all people.
In Your name we pray, Amen.
