He is all things to all people. Imagine that, if you can. I don’t know…
Prepare the Way Advent Prayer
A voice cries out: In the desert prepare the way of the LORD! Make straight in the wasteland a highway for our God!
Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill shall be made low; the rugged land shall be made a plain,
the rough country, a broad valley. Then the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all people shall see it together;
for the mouth of the LORD has spoken. – Isaiah 40:3-5
Come, Lord Jesus
Renew me in Your love and
Draw me close to you.
Help me to be humble;
to seek You first and put others before myself.
Lead me towards the path that points to You.
Shape me to be more like You each day.
Guide me to say yes joyfully when You call me.
Help me to shine Your light into my whole world.
Thank You for creating me, for choosing me as Your own beloved child, and for loving me all of my days. When gratitude is hard to summon and my own selfish desires tempt me to turn away, thank You for staying close and never leaving me. Each day is a new chance to accept You and grow in love again.
During this particular Advent season, Lord, please help me to draw close and to seek You in all the little and big moments of this time. Give me eyes to notice the small miracles and times of joy that You bring to me. Help me to look at others with Your eyes, to treat them with kindness and honor their inherent dignity. Thank You for the grace to slow down, pause and reflect on all the ways that You have shown up during this year.
I need You Lord. I need You to come anew into my life. To be reborn in my heart and to remind me of the ways that You are still alive and working. In Your infant humility, help me to be humble before You and all others.
Thank You for the chance to begin again.
Come, Lord Jesus.
Maranatha.
Send us Your spirit and renew the face of the earth.
In Your holy name, Amen.
