Prayer to Grow in the Fruit of the Spirit

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ [Jesus] have crucified their flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also follow the Spirit. // Galatians 5:22-25

Come, Holy Spirit.
Renew Your holy gifts within me.
Love, help me to will the good of all others. To love with full charity and to give in selfless ways. To honor Your sacrifice as the greatest act of love.
Joy, lead me to seek Your joy in all my life. To find the small moments that bring a smile to my face and help me to feel Your presence.
Peace, guide me to seek calm and to spread peace in all my experiences. To be a soothing presence, ever constant as You are.
Patience, help me to slow down and take a deep breath when things begin to feel overwhelming. To know that if I pause first and then act, I will be able to
respond with intention.
Kindness, help me to always act and speak in a manner that builds others up. Provide the words that I need in each moment.
Goodness, lead me to be better and to always seek out what You would have me do. Help me to take the next right step and trust that when I reach out, You will be there to assist me.
Gentleness, lead me to be a gentle spirit. Help me to treat all others with care and compassion, with the tenderness that You show to me.
Self-control, remind me of the power of sacrifice and help me to choose myself less; to be humble and open to whatever You call me to.
Spirit, lead me and help me to deepen my trust in you for all things.
I live in You, Lord. Help me to follow Your Spirit.
You are the reason for my hope.
