He is all things to all people. Imagine that, if you can. I don’t know…
Thank You Jesus, for giving me the gift of Your Holy Spirit. I believe that Your Spirit abides within me, is my advocate and ever-present help. You tell me not to be afraid and yet, I am at times. I can become caught in fear – large looming fears and smaller nagging anxieties – and lose touch with Your Spirit within me. Please help me in these moments to readily remember the Truth that You have not given me a spirit of fear, but a Spirit of power and love and self-discipline.
Lord, grant me the self-discipline to daily profess my trust in You and to proclaim belief in Your sovereignty over my life. Give me the grace to remember that You are bigger and stronger than the circumstance right in front of me. Guide my heart to face head-on the fears that keep me from growing in intimacy with You. Help me choose faith in You over fear. In Your most Holy Name I pray, Amen.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. – 2 Timothy 1:7
