De reflects on how the knowledge that the Holy Spirit is alive and active within us, gives us a new lens through which to understand old situations.
Dear Lord, I deeply desire peace and stillness in my life. Grant me the grace to spend silent time with You today and everyday. May I sit still for a few moments – in front of the Blessed Sacrament or envisioning You in my mind’s eye – and simply gaze upon You in silence. I breathe in Your Love. I surrender myself to You fully. Thank You for filling me with all that I need. Amen.
“Contemplation brings us into God’s sweetness, it decreases sadness, it gives us rest from the distraction of the senses, blessing us with the ability to perceive more keenly interior inspirations from God; and it increases, strengthens and directs our affections toward God.” St. Thomas Aquinas
