To Be Reminded of My Inheritance

Loving God,

I am Your Beloved daughter.

You called me, You chose me.

I know I have been given an abundant inheritance as one of Your own.

You desire for me to claim my inheritance, to ask and receive. Although I often squander or neglect the gifts You have given, through the blood of Christ crucified, the waters of Baptism, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Baptism and Confirmation, Your grace is always available to me.

Today I ask You to remind me, and all of my sisters, that You give us what is needed to live courageously holy lives in service of You. Give us the presence of mind to intentionally invite the Holy Spirit into every thought, deed, and interaction. Give us the strength to conform ourselves to the image of Christ, the firstborn of all creation. Bless us with unshakable faith in Your Fatherly Love.

Amen.

“For this reason…we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.” -Colossians 1:9-12
